Finished my magazine

Well it took a long time but I finally made it. This is my finished front page and I think you’ll agree this is what a real magazine is supposed to look like.
The colour scheme is consistent and doesn’t clash and the main image seems to compliment the overall design. At least that’s what I feel.
I posted this onto Facebook as well and the response was very positive with barely any complaints, so I feel this is good enough to submit.
Once I had completed the Front Page the Contents Page and Double Page spread were pretty easy to make.

The contents page was pretty easy to make the only problem was finding interesting stories to fill the space. I thought it would have looked weird if there were only a few pages in the magazine so I had to think of as much topics to cover as I possibly could.
<<< The Contents page fits in with the front Page the only thing that bugs me about it is maybe it’s a little too gray, whereas the Front Page is quite white. But that’s just a minor gripe most of the responses I got were positive.

Magazine part 2

Simon told me to change the design and stuff which I understand as I just jumped in without thinking. I decided to justify the name and change the title: heres the second version at the moment.
I mistakenly tried using a pink colour scheme again which clashed horribly with the gray and black of the title and castle, and the inclusion of real images didn’t fit at all with the cartoonish background.
It’s safe to say this version of my magazine did not look at all how I wanted it. It was after my failure here that I took a different approach to the project.

Making Magazine Cover

I'm making the magazine cover heres the first design.

This kind of thing really catches my attention, but then again I’m the one who made it and I have an unfair perspective to look at my work from.
Forutunately the person sat next to me repeatedly said he didn’t know where I was going with this or what the heck it was supposed to be saying. So this promted me to ask my fellow classmates what they thought about this magazine.

Simons lesson

Justifying ideas. I had done several ideas but i hadnt put any thoght into why I had done them that way. So in simons lesson i learnt that its important to put thought into the type of fonts i would use as well as the colours

Raster and Vector again

I screen grabbed  2 picutres to demontrate the difference of Raster and Vector images.

Raster Image is also known as Bitmap image and uses a grid of individual pixels that compose the entire picture, each pixel can be a different colour or shade.
Vector Images are composed of paths that use mathematical relationships between points and the paths connecting them to describe an image. Put basically:
Bitmap images usually require higher resolutions and an “anti-aliasing” filter for a smoother appearance. Vector-based graphics on the other hand are mathematically described and appear smooth at any size or resolution. Because of this, Vector based images are of a much higher quality than Raster but require a VERY large amount of space.
